Telling Time...

This morning I told Camryn we would have dinner at Purple Cow. She was ready to leave by 9:15 am. So I showed her the clock and told her the numbers would have to read 4:00 before we could get in the van. So all day long she's been reading the clock and reporting to me- about a hundred times. Well I am glad that she is interested in telling time and is identifying her numbers correctly, I am also very happy it is now 3:52 pm and we have 8 minutes to go.

Thank You Grandpa & Grammy!

My mom and dad vacationed in Hawaii and brought back a few little gifts. Camryn is in love with her "Hawaii dress" and has picked it twice this week- as soon as it was back in her closet from the washer and dryer.

Fourth of July

We had a super fun Fourth at our house. We cooked out with the fam and then Everett put on a little pyrotechnics show in front of the house. Camryn was awestruck by the fireworks this year. So fun to sit on the driveway and watch them with her.

Big Changes for Camryn

Camryn had a little makeover as of late.

At her opthamology appointment in June, Dr. Phillips recommended Camryn get glasses to help with her muscle balance. Her acuity is great 20/25 (age appropriate), but the glasses will help with her strabismus.

Then came her new bob. She loves it and so do I. She's our little "Sally Lou Who."

Henry @ 2 months (6/27/09)

This is for my records- so if you don't want to indulge- I understand completely.

Stats:
Weight- 11 lbs, 6.8 oz (40.3%)
Height- 24.5 inches (92.57%)

What he is up to:
Eat. Poop. Sleep (maybe). Repeat. At two months, Henry does not have a schedule, but he is starting to get more routine in his daily events. Henry has been very patient to put up with his sister's busy social agenda- he is a very on the go baby. Wakes up between 6 and 7:30 am. Nurses or bottle feeds seven or eight times a day. No problem switching back and forth according to what Mommy wants to do. Naps are still difficult. HJ does not like to sleep in his crib during the day. He did have two successful days of napping three plus hours but then Mommy bragged about it and jinxed the whole thing. Oh well- right now we just compromise with shorter naps or alternate napping locations like the swing or bouncy seat. During the day, Henry likes to sit in his bouncy seat, swing, look around on his playmat, check himself out in the mirror, or hang with any human who will hold him. His only other daily activity is a major blow out diaper- enough said. Bed time is around 7 pm. He is up every three to four hours to eat and then goes right back to sleep. We still have to wake him up to eat no less than every four hours because we do not have MCAD deficiency results (and it could be a while before we know.)

Loves:
Being with people. Being held- especially if the holder is up on his or her feet and moving around. His Baby Einstein playmat- loves to look at all the suspended toys and make the musical star light up by kicking. Checking himself out in the mirror.

Hates:
Sitting in a majorly poopy diaper. Being left alone between four and seven pm. Sleeping in his crib during the day.

Milestones:
Sleeping in his big boy crib in his room. Smiling. Making cooing sounds- less grunting. Lifting head briefly during tummy time. Intrigued by his hands. Great eye contact.

Highlights:
Attended sister's preschool graduation. Met lots of cousins, aunts, and an uncle (Beth, Ben, Ashley, Amy, Andrea, Nate, and Jillian). Went to the zoo. Spent some time with Nana Alyce who will be caring for Henry when I go back to work in August. Met Sofi- possibly his first girlfriend- she's a cutie. Celebrated Father's Day with his super duper Daddy!
